Three Big Texas Energy Events You Don't Want to Miss
I'm looking forward to speaking at the UT KBH Energy Center's Annual Symposium, Gulf Coast Power Association Fall Conference, and the Intersolar Texas Conference
There are lots of great events coming up. Here are a few of them where you can find me in the coming weeks and months.
Also, if you’re a paid subscriber, first, thank you. And please mark your calendar for a subscriber chat Thursday, August 21 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT during the PUC’s next Open Meeting. It looks like it will be a busy one with SB 6 implementation, energy efficiency, wildfire mitigation, and more on the agenda.
KBH Energy Center Symposium: September 12, 2025 | Austin, TX (AT&T Hotel & Conference Center)
I’ll be speaking on a topic familiar to subscribers, Powering the Digital Age: Data Centers and Energy Supply, alongside Microsoft’s Melissa Lott and Lancium’s Michael McNamara and moderated by Dr. Michael Webber of UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering. Check out the other panels and register here. This one is shaping up to be a great event.
GCPA Fall Conference & Exhibition: September 30 – October 1, 2025 | Austin, TX (Hilton Austin) (Pre-conference workshops begin September 29)
The Gulf Coast Power Association’s Fall Conference is one of the most well-attended and substantive conferences on Texas grid issues around. Now in its 40th year, the conference promises a timely and thought-provoking agenda focused on the future of Texas electricity markets. I’ll be moderating a panel on innovation in the ERCOT market with former ECP guest and Base Power CEO Zach Dell and a great group of panelists. Check the GCPA website next week for more details.

Intersolar & Energy Storage North America – Texas Regional Conference: November 18 – 19, 2025 | Grapevine, TX (Gaylord Texan Resort)
For all things solar, storage, and distributed energy solutions, Intersolar & Energy Storage Texas is an essential stop this November. It’s a regional version of the national event (where I sat down with Suncast’s Nico Johnson in San Diego earlier this year), focused specifically on the opportunities and challenges facing the Texas market.
I am looking forward leading a keynote session Power, Policy, and the Path Forward: Texas Energy Legislation in a National Context. Their 11 conference sessions will cover critical topics across Finance, Policy and Regulation, Market Development, amongst others. And the Expo portion of these IESNA events are always great. Attending this one is a great way to learn what’s going on in the industry and network.

If you’re planning to attend any of these, let me know. I always enjoy catching up with subscribers in person. This work would not be possible without your support.
