In today’s issue, I cover:

  • CenterPoint CEO Jason Wells and two other executives will make presentations and answer Commissioners’ questions at the PUC Open Meeting today.

  • PUC Executive Director Connie Corona filed a memo laying out scope of CenterPoint investigation

  • PUC Staff recommended rejecting NPRR 1224 which would create a $750/MWh floor for a key ancillary services, raising consumer costs

  • A PCM workshop will be held today even though there is widespread opposition to the cumbersome capacity market construct; reasons for prioritizing a capacity market workshop over Hurricane Beryl response are… unclear

I’ll host a Substack Chat today during the PUC Open Meeting, (Thursday, July 25) from 10-11 CT. Here are the instructions on how to join the Chat; if you haven’t already, please upgrade to a paid subscription. If you can’t afford a subscription, please request a complimentary subscription in an email to stoicenergyconsulting@gmail.com.
