Legislative grid hearings underway; IMM: new renewables lowered prices in 2023; ERCOT Board materials show big jump in batteries; new reliability standard will likely move forward at PUC tomorrow.
Today in the Grid Roundup:
The Texas House had a grid hearing Monday and the Senate committee hearing is underway right now. Some initial observations are below;
According to the Independent Market Monitor, new renewable energy reduced market prices in 2023;
ERCOT Board materials show major jump in batteries; and
PUC set to move forward and open formal comment period on a new reliability standard at their Open Meeting tomorrow.
