Texas Grid Roundup
A brief roundup of what's happening at the PUC and ERCOT
I’ll have a post tomorrow about the Arctic blast heading to Texas. While the parallels are eerie (a cold front moving in Sunday night of a holiday weekend with frigid temperatures, a steadily worsening forecast, etc.), this system does not look, for now at least, like a Uri repeat. At this point, this system looks more like Elliott (Dec. 2022) than Uri (Feb. 2021).
For now, though, I want to share the first installment of a regular feature I announced recently for paid subscribers where I highlight a few particularly interesting and timely issues percolating at the PUC and/or ERCOT. See below for updates on the battery storage “state of charge” issue, an important change to the virtual power plant pilot, a petition to increase consumers’ bills, and more.
