Register today for a subscriber-only Zoom presentation this Friday, April 4 at 1:00 CT looking at recent trends and developments in ERCOT, as well as a review of the policy proposals under consideration at the Legislature.

In this issue:

  • Two more projects dropped out of the Texas Energy Fund Friday. On Friday, I reported that WattBridge withdrew 600 megawatts. An hour or so after that, Constellation removed another 300 megawatts. 35% of the megawatts (3,393) originally selected for the Fund have now been canceled or withdrawn

  • SB 819 has most opposition testimony of any energy bill in recent history;

  • Another anti-energy bill that would raise costs (SB 715) will be heard in committee tomorrow (4/1);

  • ERCOT calls residential demand response “a key corporate priority in 2025” in presentation to Retail Market Subcommittee;

  • Two geothermal bills to be heard in House Energy Resources today; hearing at 2:00 CT;

  • Two backup power bills to be heard at House Human Services.

The presentation on Friday, the rest of this Grid Roundup and all of the previous ones — along with the archives, past special presentations, select Energy Capital Podcasts, including this one with Jupiter Power CEO Andy Bowman, and more — are for paid subscribers only. If you aren’t yet a paid subscriber, please become one today.
