Tyler Norris joins me to discuss a groundbreaking study on large flexible loads, the data center boom, and how demand-side innovation can ease grid strain and enable load growth.
Thank you Tyler and Doug for your tireless efforts to bring visibility to this issue. Before you released the pod, there was much commentary and skepticism on social media about how data centers are not demand response resources. When you publish interviews describing the complete corpus of value like this pod, you're helping break the myth that we are talking about running VPP with data centers! Better utilizing the grid we have with the tech stack to unlock, mean speed to power and lower rates for everyone. 👏🏽
During the extremely brief TX legislative sessions, I would appreciate if you could have a brief call to action for folks to call their legislators. something like this:
NO to bill SB123/HB1234 then include a 1-2 sentence explanation why.
YES to bill SB98/HB9876 with a short explanation using easy language.
Consider that it could act as a bit of a script.
I have a lot of volunteers in my area who are making calls about various issues, we have a shared list. I often want to include your info, but it needs to be easy and clear for everyone. I love your podcast and care about these topics a lot... yet sometimes it is hard for me to pair down your suggestions in a way that is cogent on a call, and it's harder for folks who do not YET care about this issue as much as I do and you do.
