Good News Edition: Texas Grid Roundup #55
Bills advance to support: easier permitting of distributed energy resources; clean firm power; and energy efficiency; plus, ERCOT to hold residential demand response workshop tomorrow
There are a staggering amount of terrible bills this session which I’ve covered in depth here but there are some really good bills, too! These are certainly nowhere near all of them but here are a few.
Senate Bill 1252 by Chairman Schwertner and Chairman Ken King would make it easier to get distributed batteries and is close to passage;
ERCOT residential demand response workshop to be held tomorrow; this follows the establishment of residential DR as a top priority for 2025;
Multiple energy efficiency council bills are advancing; and
Clean firm power bills to support nuclear and geothermal power are making progress.
