In this edition:

  • ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas told the Austin American Statesman that SB 819, SB 388, SB 715/HB 3356 increase grid-related risks, says “we need to have all the resources available” to meet rapid load growth;

  • His comments were made at the ERCOT Innovation Summit, which included discussion of ERCOT’s new residential demand response initiative;

  • A heavily amended, much improved House Bill 3556 passed the House after a dramatic vote on an amendment offered by House Energy Resources Chairman Drew Darby;

  • Senate Bill 6 receives lukewarm reception in the House. Chairman Ken King promises a substitute soon;

  • The nuclear incentives bill, House Bill 14, was heard this morning in Senate Business & Commerce today and appears to have little support on the east side of the Capitol.
